Behind The Scenes insights: I was originally going to make Dipsomania the subject of this strip, because, you know: funny word.  But it turns out it’s just a very specialized compulsive relative of alcoholism, so that sort of ruins it.

But that raises an interesting question about language acquisition: where, and from whom, did I learn the word “dipsomania”, that I recalled it but not that it had to do with compulsive drinking?  Was there a big pop culture meme in the last few years where dipsomaniacs were being referenced?  Email me if you have any ideas, I’ll airmail you a pony.
