I have a theory that a lot of people who like sports really just like a physics and/or math.  You get lots of interesting collisions between objects in sports — from home runs to QB sacks — and you also get numbers out the wazoo

For example, Baseball Stat of the Day.  It’s the sort of thing that could almost maybe sort of make a person care.
